Concept and Visual Strategy
The design is based on the historical nature of the title and the genre of classic British horror. The primary visual element of the cover is a period engraving, referencing the era of the book’s original release while emphasizing its atmosphere.
Typography
The selection of typefaces reflects a combination of classic book traditions and modern simplicity.
Headings and Titles: Map Roman.
Body Text: Georgia.
Illustrations and Cover
The cover design is enhanced by a transparent spot UV varnish, evoking water droplets and light reflections on willow leaves. The book also features a series of tipped-in full-page historical engravings that visually expand on the natural motifs.

Koncept a vizuální řešení
Při návrhu jsem vycházela z historického charakteru titulu a žánru klasického britského hororu. Hlavním vizuálním prvkem obálky je dobová rytina, která svou estetikou odkazuje na dobu vzniku díla a podtrhuje jeho atmosféru.
Typografie
Volba písem reflektuje spojení klasické knižní tradice s moderní jednoduchostí.
Nadpisy a titulky: Map Roman.
Základní text: Georgia.
Ilustrace a obálka
Vzhled obálky dotváří efekt průhledného parciálního laku, který evokuje vodní kapky a odlesky světla na vrbovém listí. Kniha je dále doplněna sérií vnořených celostránkových historických rytin, které vizuálně rozvíjejí přírodní motivy.
